The CITB yesterday informed all Training Associations like ours, which they have been supporting for many years, that from the end of March 2026 all funding will cease. Whilst this was not totally unexpected the timing, the abrupt short notice and lack of transition funding is extremely disappointing. This is not because they are unhappy with our performance as we have consistently exceeded their training targets. They now intend to channel all their supported training through their Employer Networks which will deal directly with CITB registered companies.
The funding we have been receiving is currently £35,000 per year so we shall immediately start work on responding to this challenge. We are very fortunate that we have substantial financial reserves and the withdrawal of CITB support will not affect our operations.
However we shall need to evolve, and part of this will be to expand the areas where we can offer support to our members.
