National Careers Week

We have over 40 apprentices in our member companies and offer advice and help. We work very closely with local colleges to ensure the apprentices are well looked after. If you are a person looking for a building related apprenticeship do not hesitate to contact us. If you are a construction company in the Thames Valley that needs help with apprentices we are here to help.

About National Careers Week – 2nd – 7th March 2026

National Careers Week (NCW) is a UK-wide, week-long celebration dedicated to careers education, information, advice and guidance. It brings together schools, colleges, universities and training providers to spotlight career pathways and inspire young people as they plan their futures.

Held annually at a key point in the academic calendar, NCW provides a shared focus for careers activity across the country. The week is supported by a wide range of high-quality, free resources — including printable materials, downloads, digital content and videos — designed to help educators plan engaging and impactful careers programmes.

While the spotlight shines brightest during the dedicated week, NCW resources are available all year round. This means you can enhance and energise your CEIAG and wider careers activities whenever it suits your learners — although we always encourage organisations to get involved during the official celebration.

In response to the pandemic, we launched a Virtual Careers Fair for NCW 2021 and 2022, reaching more than one million young people and providing vital inspiration and interaction during the Spring and Summer terms. Building on that success, NCW 2023, 2024 and 2025 achieved a similarly wide reach, continuing to connect students with opportunities and future pathways.

Yesterday our Group Training Officer Paul Bayley spoke to a group of construction students at New meaning Training https://newmeaning.training/ in High Wycombe The talk was about opportunities in the Construction Industry and how to approach full time employment. He believes the talk was well received as he has been asked to carry out the same presentation at their workshops in Reading. New Meaning Training are always looking for employers who take on apprentices to contact them even if you can give a talk on your company and the industry in general.
